I believe base 16 (Hexadecimal) is a much better number system than our current base 10.
This is my attempt to propose a new number system.
Please submit a comment below with any ideas.
Symbols
There is a good document proposing new symbols: arxiv.org/pdf/1707.03751.pdf.
The document suggests the symbols to replace the common 0123456789ABCDEF.
(If symbols are not visible, see this image)
The font was taken from github.com/valdisvi/HexEditorPlugin and modified for this website.
Here is an idea of how 16 symbols could be put on a keyboard using only 8 keys (example)
Naming
I am not sure what to call this number system. Hexadecimal is made up of six (hex) and ten (decimal), which doesn’t make much sense when not using base-10.
Here are some ideas:
- duoctal (duo = 2 * octal = 8, still not it’s own word)
- sedecimal (based on latin, but still contains decimal)
- sedimal (like sedecimal, but sounds more like it’s own word, but sort of decimal reversed) (also mentioned at bo8h.de/Sedimal/)
- sedenal (like sedimal, a bit more unique)
Words/Speech
Names for different things.

Time
I have created a new time system.

You may consider to show some example calculations with the two systems to compare complexity and clearify saved time and space.
